We recycle waste from construction and demolition, as well as all kinds of bulky waste and end-of-life tyres. We subject them to a transformation process to turn them into resources.

We work with the aim of recycling 100% of the rubble we receive. We treat both clean rubble, composed only of stony materials such as concrete and ceramics, and dirty rubble, which also contains non-stony materials such as wood, plastics or metals.
To achieve this, we subject the waste received at our plants to a comprehensive cleaning, crushing and screening process. The cleaning stages include the removal of magnetic metals, the suction of light materials, the manual separation of unsuitable materials and, finally, a ballistic separation that produces high-quality recycled aggregates, ready for reuse in new construction.
In this way, we transform waste into valuable resources, closing the use cycle and promoting the circular economy in the construction sector.
The bulky waste we treat includes furniture, household goods and WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment). Those suitable for repair are sent to carpentry or appliance workshops as appropriate, with the repaired products being sold in Fundació Deixalles shops.
The treatment building has a reception and sorting area where waste is separated by type: white goods (with and without CFCs), electronic and computer equipment and other bulky items.
In the final management, recoverable materials — mainly metals, wood and plastics — are recovered and hazardous components such as refrigerant gases, oils and electronic parts are safely removed.
Once all recoverable elements have been removed, a residual waste similar to municipal waste remains, which is sent for energy generation at the Son Reus energy recovery plant.
At our plant we manage non-reusable end-of-life tyres by shearing them, turning them into waste suitable for energy recovery.
By treating construction and demolition waste we manufacture new products that we call recycled aggregates.
We obtain two qualities of aggregates depending on the material treated: on the one hand MAC AR H70 from mixed CDW origin and on the other MAC AR H90 from CDW origin composed mainly of concrete waste. The latter is made to order.
In this way, we transform waste into valuable resources, closing the use cycle and promoting the circular economy in the construction sector.
At MAC Insular we give a second life to furniture and appliances that are in good condition. These products are repaired in our workshops, guaranteeing their functionality and extending their useful life. In addition, we manufacture new furniture from recovered wood (Upcycling). All of this is in line with our commitment to the circular economy.
Our workshops employ social reintegration personnel from Fundació Deixalles, thus also contributing to a positive social impact. They are also responsible for the marketing of the repaired products, ensuring that they can reach new homes and users.

All those reject materials similar to municipal waste resulting from our treatment processes are sent to the Son Reus energy recovery plant, where they are used to generate clean energy.
